Sunday was race day. David, his dad, sister Crystal and I headed to the track, while the rest of David's family and the boys took a trip to the Zoo in Indianapolis. Thomas and Michael were still talking about the trip to the zoo over a week later, so it must have been a hit. A good time was had by all at the race, including watching the exciting finish.
After the race, David's parents and Crystal were heading back to Kansas and we were headed to Fort Wayne, IN to spend a few days with David's sister Jilinda and her family. The visit to Fort Wayne including touring a couple of local car museum, the highlight for all the kids was getting to see the Batmobile. We also went to a minor league ball game. Thomas and Michael are still in love with the TinCaps. They play pretend baseball in our living room and one of them is usually playing for the TinCaps.
After finishing our visit in Fort Wayne it was time to start making the journey home. We left Fort and headed to St. Louis again. We stopped again in Indianapolis, but this time it was for the boys. We spent a good portion of the day at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. Man that place is cool. I think we covered about every square inch of the place. The boys could have continued on for a couple more hours, but mom was tired and ready to hit the road. So we finished the drive to my grandma's house.
We stayed a couple of days at my grandma's house. One of the days we were out there, we went to visit my cousin who lives on a dairy farm. The highlight of that day for the boys was driving around on the golf cart and seeing all the cows. We even were able to watch some of the cows being milked. The night before we left we went to watch my cousin Jake play baseball. The highlight of evening for David, was that they sold beer at the little league baseball game. The boys had a great time watching someone they knew play baseball.
